JOHN WICK
With Keanu Reeves, Michael Nyqvist, Alfie Allen, Michael Nyqvist, David Leitch
Written by Derek Kolstad
Directed by Chad Stahelski and David Leitch
I haven't seen Reeves on screen in a while.
Here he slides into a violent tale as an ex-assassin who mourns the death of his wife, caring for a puppy she gave him before she passed away.
However, when a Russian immigrant crime lord's son (and his side-kicks) make the mistake of beating him up, stealing his muscle car and killing the puppy he holds dear, there is very little they can do to have Wick cut a bloody path of destruction until his vengeance is quenched. Igniting the underworld with allies and adversaries in a panic, with very little to lose, few want to be in John's way, even with a contract on his head.
An extremely violent, but cathartically exciting action film that pulls few punches (continuing a stylishly shot and choreographed style perfected in Keanu classics of The Matrix trilogy).
